I have a new video interview here conducted by the wonderful gentleman Chris Bentzen of Hot Art Wet City.
In the video I talk about the turning point that I find while creating a painting and I talk alot about creativity in general. I compare deep creativity to going into a well - me and my metaphors! Sheesh!
I think that I am inspired by Haruki Murakami's Wind Up Bird where the main character goes down into a well on a regular basis. It's a very surreal story!
“The point is, not to resist the flow. You go up when you're supposed to go up and down when you're supposed to go down. When you're supposed to go up, find the highest tower and climb to the top. When you're supposed to go down, find the deepest well and go down to the bottom. When there's no flow, stay still. If you resist the flow, everything dries up. If everything dries up, the world is darkness.”
― Haruki Murakami, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle
